## What we'll check for you.

Insurance can be confusing. When you reach out, we'll look into the details and explain them clearly before anything starts.

1. **Whether ABA is covered** under your child's plan
2. **What your plan needs first** , such as a diagnosis, referral or prescription
3. **Whether approval is needed** before the assessment or treatment
4. **Your costs** , such as a deductible, copay or coinsurance

### Does insurance cover ABA in New Mexico?

In New Mexico, Medicaid and many commercial plans cover ABA for eligible children. What's covered, and what's needed first, varies by plan. We'll check yours with you.

### Does my child need a diagnosis?

For insurance to cover ABA, plans usually need a diagnosis, most often autism spectrum disorder, from a qualified provider. Many plans also ask for a referral or prescription for ABA.

If you don't have a diagnosis yet, reach out anyway. We can talk through next steps.

### What if my plan doesn't cover ABA?

Private pay is available. We can also talk through your options and what to ask your plan.
