## What parent training looks like with us.

Parent training is regular time with your child's BCBA, focused on you. You'll learn the strategies used in your child's program and how to use them during your family's real routines.

It's a core part of every program we offer. The more the strategies are used across the day, the more chances your child has to practice.

You know your child best.

That's why this time is focused on you, and why it's part of every program.

## Who it's for.

Anyone who is part of your child's day.

- Parents, guardians and other caregivers of children in our programs
- Caregivers who want tools for tricky moments, like transitions or bedtime
- Families who want consistency across home, school and community
- Grandparents or other family members who spend time with your child

## What a session looks like.

Every child's plan is different, so sessions vary. Here's a general picture.

Parent training is part of your child's overall plan. Your BCBA will talk with you about how often it happens.

1. ### Check in on the week

What went well, what was hard, and what you'd like to focus on.
2. ### Learn one strategy

Your BCBA explains a strategy in plain language and shows how it works.
3. ### Practice together

You try it out, with your child or through role-play, and get friendly feedback.
4. ### Plan for the week

You leave with one or two small, doable things to try.

## How families take part.

Parents and caregivers are part of the team. Here is how that works in parent training.

- Sessions can happen during your child's therapy time or at a separate time
- Bring your questions, big or small
- Invite other caregivers who are part of your child's day
- Help set and update your child's goals
